The stadium Geoffroy-Guichard was unfortunate to be without its south stand on Saturday due to a penalty from the Professional Football League, during the match between AS Saint-Etienne and USL Dunkirk, which otherwise would have ranked high in terms of attendance in the 30th matchday of Ligue 2 for the 2025-2026 season.
Paul-Lignon and Bauer were full. Even with the Cauldron filled three-quarters, it was more crowded than usual, as reported by Sportune. On average, 8,193 spectators attended the weekend matches until Monday in the stands, compared to 7,957 throughout the current season. This is also true in terms of occupancy. At 60%, the average is on the higher side for this season, potentially even setting a record for the season if AS Saint-Etienne had been able to fill the stands with supporters.
Noteworthy are the fanbases of Rodez AF and Red Star FC, two of the most loyal supporters of the second division. The former filled Paul-Lignon for the visit of the leader ESTAC Troyes, who faced a formidable Aveyron team in 2026, while the latter equally filled Bauer for the Red Star FC match against SC Bastia.
Attendance and occupancy rates for the 30th matchday of Ligue 2: – Saint-Etienne vs. Dunkirk = 28,574 (77%) – Amiens vs. Pau = 7,490 (58%) – Rodez vs. Troyes = 6,565 (97%) – Laval vs. Reims = 6,266 (66%) – Annecy vs. Montpellier = 5,851 (43%) – Guingamp vs. Grenoble = 5,244 (28%) – Boulogne vs. Le Mans = 4,650 (31%) – Red Star vs. Bastia = 4,648 (98%) – Clermont vs. Nancy = 4,450 (42%)
