Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army on Saturday to strike “forcefully” the pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon, following what the army described as a series of ceasefire violations. According to a brief statement released by his office, the Prime Minister “ordered the Israeli army to launch strikes with force against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon” after the army reported ceasefire violations.
Several hours earlier, in several separate statements, the army declared to have “eliminated more than 15 terrorists in southern Lebanon”, including three who were traveling in a vehicle “loaded with weapons”.

“Cache of anti-tank missiles”
It also accused the Lebanese movement of having “launched explosive drones towards Israeli army soldiers” in the Qantara region, which “exploded” near the soldiers without causing any injuries.
The soldiers also discovered “a cache of anti-tank missiles in a Hezbollah weapons depot” as well as an underground tunnel containing Kalashnikov rifles, it added.
The war between Israel and Hezbollah was triggered on March 2 when the Lebanese movement attacked the neighboring country in retaliation for the Israeli-American attack on Iran. A ceasefire has been in effect since April 17, extended by three weeks. Since then, the two belligerents accuse each other of violating it.
