Edward Still has suffered a second consecutive defeat on the sidelines of Watford. Here is his reaction after the 0-2 loss to Sheffield United.

With players like Patrick Bamford and Danny Ings in their ranks, Sheffield United remains a formidable team in the Championship. It was actually Bamford who decided the match against Watford with two goals in ten minutes in the fourth quarter of an hour.

“It was a very tough afternoon. It unfolded in three stages. In the first 10 to 15 minutes, we had opportunities to take control of the ball, we should have asserted ourselves a bit more,” Edward Still begins on the Watford website.

“Their system caused us some problems, as it was a bit different from what they had done before. But then, we adapted very well and the last half-hour of the first half went well. They didn’t create many chances and we had a very good opportunity before halftime,” he continues.

But Patrick Bamford changed the game with his brace: “Our behavior at the start of the play that led to the 0-1 was not sufficient. We didn’t prevent them from cleanly restarting after losing the ball, we couldn’t stop the action in midfield. But what is most disappointing is the lack of reaction after their second goal, we would have liked to see a more pronounced response.”

With this defeat, Watford is now 12 points behind the top 6: “I’m not going to blame anyone, criticize, or point fingers at anyone. Everyone made mistakes in this defeat. It is important, in moments like this, that everyone comes together – staff and players – we must unite and respond collectively to this,” concludes Edward Still.
