The central defender for Spurs, Kevin Danso, was targeted after the draw played by Tottenham against Brighton this Saturday.

Racism continues to manifest in the football world. This weekend, the Austrian defender for Tottenham, Kevin Danso, was targeted on social media after his mistake in stoppage time which cost Spurs the victory against Brighton (2-2).

A wave of insults forced his club to communicate on social media, condemning the “abhorrent and dehumanizing” comments directed at the former RC Lens player. “Kevin has our full support, as a player and as a person. No one in this club will ever be alone in this situation. Racism has no place in Tottenham and racism has no place in the football world,” commented the current 18th in the Premier League, who demands “the most severe sanctions possible against each identified individual.”

Struggling, Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham remains relegation-threatened as the end of the season draws near. If West Ham wins against Crystal Palace tonight, Spurs would see their chances of staying in the league greatly diminish.
