Former psychiatric nurse at the Montfavet hospital and now a student in communication, Jasmine Bourzika, known as 7-Suna, transforms posters of cult films into graphic creations. Her artistic journey has developed gradually. Working in a therapeutic workshop, she was introduced to several disciplines such as photography, painting, and sculpture.
It was during her master’s degree in Culture and Communication at the University of Avignon that she discovered graphic design, which she uses to reinterpret posters. Passionate about cinema, the artist chose to pay tribute to the film industry by revisiting iconic posters such as Forrest Gump and giving them new meanings. Through wordplay and pictograms, she creates artworks that are humorous, thought-provoking, and universal. Her creations invite the audience to reflect on current social issues while maintaining a playful dimension.
For 7-Suna, art is primarily a means of expression. “Art allows us to express our concerns and thoughts about what surrounds us,” she explains. Her works become platforms for reflection that denounce certain events or behaviors of our time. Through a simple and impactful visual language, the artist creates emotions and awareness.
