Russia launched “at least 800 drones” on Ukraine on Wednesday, May 13, killing at least six people, denounced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. These Russian drone strikes also injured several individuals in regions far from the front lines. According to Ukrainian regional authorities, three people were killed in the western region of Rivne, two in the southern region of Kherson, and one in Zaporizhia, also in southern Ukraine.
“The fact that one of the largest and longest Russian attacks on Ukraine coincides precisely with the visit of the President of the United States to China–a highly anticipated visit–is certainly not a coincidence,” denounced the Ukrainian president in a social media post.
Volodymyr Zelensky once again urged Ukraine’s allied countries to “exert real pressure” on Moscow to end these strikes. Earlier in the day, he had called on Donald Trump, who arrived in China on Wednesday, to discuss ways to end the Russian invasion during his meeting with Xi Jinping.
