A check of 3,000 euros handed over to the league against cancer after a charity evening in Les Mées

The crowd gathered at the Mées (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) town hall for an evening of dance and charity.

About 400 people came together to enjoy demonstrations from numerous local associations in a great atmosphere.

The Gym Tonic association, CS Fitness from Sisteron, Sports et Loisirs from Garde-Colombe, Ecole du Sous-Sol from Digne-les-Bains, Académie Danse center from Manosque, and singer Lecya put on a performance that was well-received by the audience.

A night for a good cause

With the primary health insurance fund and the average sporting union of Durance (USMD) football section as partners, this event was a success.

At the end of this charity event, a check for 3,000 euros was handed over to the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Cancer League. The gesture was praised by Max Eymard, the mayor of the town. “I am happy to see all these associations so involved in good causes,” he said.

“We need to revitalize healthcare facilities,” explained Mireille Coulet, the departmental president of the cancer league. She noted, however, that few people take advantage of screening, “only 35%,” even though “we talk about it a lot.”
