During the 19th edition of the Spring of Europe organized by the City of Dijon, the Jazz France Balkans Network (RJFB) is offering a range of events dedicated to music, reflection, and creation, all centered around the theme of jazz. These events will take place on Thursday, May 14, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the old council chamber on the first floor of the Town Hall, and on Friday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Auditorium, in the OIV room. The network is a cultural cooperation project bringing together representatives from Dijon and Chambéry, Balkan countries (Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro), as well as music industry professionals from these regions.

The feminization in the jazz scene addressed

During these two days, concerts, conferences, round tables, artist residencies, and workshops, led by industry professionals, will address current issues such as the feminization in the jazz scene or the role of this music genre in international cooperation. In addition to these events, two evenings are offered.

On Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m., the Darcy cinema in Dijon will host the screening of the film “Underground” (1995) directed by Emir Kusturica for a Jazz and Cinema evening. Finally, to conclude these two days, the France Balkans Jazz-Band group will perform a concert on Friday, May 15, starting at 9 p.m. in the courtyard of the Bar du Palais des Ducs et des États de Bourgogne.
