Specializing in serving clients ranging from large corporations to artisans, Rexel is capitalizing on the boom in data centers. Prior to its latest acquisition, North America accounted for nearly half of its business.

With the acquisition of Revere Electrical Supply, Rexel has now purchased a total of 16 companies in North America since 2020. This strategic move, amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars, aims to strengthen the French group’s position in the American market, particularly in the industrial automation sector.

Rexel falls into the category of specialized distributors, providing professionals with a wide range of electrical equipment for both buildings and industries. These products are essential for electrifying various processes, including industrial processes and the establishment of data centers. Rexel is set to leverage this trend to further expand its market share across the Atlantic. In addition to products, the group also offers services and solutions to help businesses, installers, and artisans automate and electrify industrial processes.

Currently, North America represents 46% of Rexel’s business, with significant growth driven by the expansion of data centers. The company supplies these centers with transformers, circuit breakers, fans, and kilometers of cables, resulting in substantial revenue. “This segment accounts for 3% of our global revenue and approximately 7% of North America’s revenue in the fourth quarter,” explained Rexel’s CEO Guillaume Texier to Le Figaro in February. “However, the growth is very strong: the business doubled last year. Data centers contributed 40% to our overall growth in 2025, and even 45% in the last quarter.”
