Should we believe all those who like to depict a France in inexorable decline? Political decline for a country hampered by the impotence of a government without a majority and that of a president condemned to flitting around internationally until the end of his mandate. Economic, with unemployment starting to rise again (+8.1% of the active population in the first quarter of 2026) and productivity struggling to find sustained long-term gains through investment, training and digital technology.
Demographic finally, with a negative natural balance for the first time in 2025, that is to say more deaths than births, which has not happened since 1945. A data which calls into question the French social model, including the system pensions, which operates on the principle of distribution: working people finance retirees’ pensions through their contributions, based on the principle that theirs will be assumed by subsequent generations.
Who to answer the migration question?
The picture is not rosy and it is not Éric Zemmour who is going to tell us the opposite, he who denounced ten years ago already in his book Le Suicide françaisthe collapse of our country following the renunciation of our sovereignty on all the points mentioned above, adding the migration question.
The figures on this subject are relentless and have not improved: since 2017, France has welcomed on average between 300,000 and 500,000 legal immigrants each year, according to official data from the Ministry of the Interior. No Prime Minister has known or wanted to slow down this frantic pace. Élisabeth Borne even justified it by the need for labor in shortage occupations and pleaded for the regularization of illegal immigrants who have been working on our soil for a long time on the grounds of their unworthy and precarious working conditions.
Economy, politics, birth rate, security, immigration, the time for observations has now passed
This is more or less the reasoning used by Pedro Sanchez in Spain, who has just opted for the massive regularization of 500,000 undocumented immigrants, considering that immigration is the only lever for demographic and economic growth. By forgetting a fundamental fact: importing labor at low cost weighs on the entire wage scale and pulls everyone down. However, rising wages and the possibility of living with dignity from one’s work are the essential conditions for social peace and one of the keys to relaunching consumption and productivity. Immigration has long been a French taboo as those who spoke of it were ostracized by a left imposing its moral magisterium on the entire political sphere, and especially the media.
It also remains a real unthinkable for left-wing parties outside the LFI. François Ruffin has just had the bitter experience of being thoroughly beaten up by his little playmates for daring to say: “I am hostile to immigration for work.” Economy, politics, birth rate, security, immigration, the time for observations has now passed. We are expecting multiple candidates on the trail for 2027 solutions and a project for France. What do you propose to restore more freedom and security to the French? To revive our economic competitiveness and restore the feeling of national pride? To revive youth employment and rebuild national education? We have less than a year to begin our recovery.
