“We do not change our version”
Flavie Flament has reacted. After filing a rape complaint against Patrick Bruel, the host spoke out on RTL this Friday. “I have never had consensual sexual relations with Patrick Bruel,” declared Flavie Flament, before pointing the finger at the singer’s defense.
The host accuses Patrick Bruel of raping her in 1991, when she was 16 years old. She has filed a complaint. The alleged facts are contested by the artist. This Friday, Flavie Flament denounces the different versions put forward by the singer’s defense: “The arguments vary: first an episodic relationship, then a relationship over several years, then vacations together for years.”
Continuing, she says: “When you hold the truth, you never change your version […] So many things are said. I wanted to let it go… We don’t speak in the noise. I wouldn’t have been heard in that chaos.”
“Using legal levers”
Flavie Flament, 51, also criticized the qualifications of Patrick Bruel’s defense, 67. “Can you imagine what it’s like for a minor victim to be told that she was consenting to the tragedy she suffered? These allegations are dreadful […]. We are currently studying the possibility of using legal levers with my lawyers. What is happening is also what happens when a victim speaks: they try to silence her and discredit her.”
