Israel announced on Friday that it had launched an airstrike in Gaza targeting Izz al-Din al-Haddad, whom they described as the head of the military wing of the Palestinian movement Hamas.
“Sous les instructions du Premier ministre Benyamin Nétanyahou et du ministre de la Défense Israël Katz, les FDI ont mené une frappe aérienne à Gaza visant le dangereux terroriste Izzedine al-Haddad, commandant de l’aile militaire du Hamas et l’un des principaux architectes du massacre du 7 octobre,” declared the Israeli Ministry of Defense.
“Al-Haddad est responsable de l’assassinat, de l’enlèvement et du préjudice causé à des milliers de civils israéliens et de soldats de Tsahal,” the post specified.
“Il a tenu nos otages en captivité brutale, orchestré des attaques terroristes contre nos forces et refusé de mettre en œuvre l’accord proposé par le président américain Donald Trump pour désarmer le Hamas et démilitariser la bande de Gaza,” it was declared on social media.
Hamas has not yet released a statement regarding the fate of Izz Al-Din Al-Haddad. He is the highest-ranking Hamas official to be targeted since the ceasefire agreement reached under the auspices of the United States last October.
Izz Al-Din Al-Haddad became the military leader of the armed group in Gaza after the assassination of commander Mohammad Sinouar by Israel in May 2025.
