After a successful season 3, the American channel HBO has unsurprisingly renewed “The White Lotus” for a fourth season, set on the French Riviera. The acclaimed and award-winning series will feature a whole new cast, including familiar names like Chloe Bennet, Rosie Perez, Max Greenfield, and Alexander Ludwig. Filming for season 4 began in April at the Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, with Laura Dern replacing Helena Bonham Carter after a few days of shooting, and with the addition of French actors Vincent Cassel and Laura Smet.
Laura Smet’s casting in “The White Lotus” has raised questions about her connections as the daughter of famous parents, but agent Dominique Besnehard has denied rumors of any special treatment. He stated that Laura Smet auditioned for the role and was chosen for her talent, not her family name.
In addition to her role in the upcoming season of “The White Lotus,” Laura Smet will also star in a biopic about her father, Johnny Hallyday, scheduled for release in 2027. Directed by Cédric Jimenez, the film will feature well-known French actors like Nina Meurisse, William Lebghil, and Benjamin Voisin alongside Laura Smet as her grandmother Huguette Clerc. This project comes at a challenging time for Laura Smet, who recently lost her mother.
