The Aronef will hoist a crane to the top of the Opus Tower to allow for the building’s renovation.
A construction site that promises to be as impressive as it is noisy. A Super Puma (H215) will disrupt the tranquility of the La Defense business district this Saturday morning. Specialist SAF Helicopters will carry out an airlift to the top of the Opus Tower, which has just begun a major modernization led by the Legendre group.
The aircraft bearing the registration F-HRTS will arrive in the sky of La Defense around 9 am this Saturday, May 16th. Its mission will be to hoist the elements of a Liebherr Derrick crane, along with a mini spider crane, to the top of the building using an 80-meter sling. Six rotations are planned over about thirty minutes.

Airbus’s aircraft will arrive from Albertville, in Savoie, the day before, to land at the Issy-les-Moulineaux heliport. While the Super Puma will not land at the foot of the towers of La Defense during its mission, a large security perimeter will be put in place and managed by AIDF. Specifically, access to the square in front of the Agam Fountain will be prohibited to the public. However, pedestrian access will be maintained along the entire Coeur Defense. The different loads will be positioned on the square before being airlifted to the top of the tower.
Airwork leader, SAF Helicopters is no stranger to this type of operation. The French company has already carried out numerous airlifts in the business district, whether with a Super Puma or a smaller aircraft. Last October, an AS350 B3 helicopter hoisted several CTA modules onto the terrace of the Acacia building. The last appearance of the Super Puma dates back to December 2024 when it transported heat pumps to the top of the Hyfive Tower.
