An Iranian official deems likely a resumption of war with the United States.

President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced on Saturday that he would study Tehran’s plan to resolve the Middle East conflict, after rejecting a previous offer from Iran threatening to “pulverize” them.

The situation between the two countries has been deadlocked since a ceasefire came into effect on April 8, after nearly 40 days of Israeli-American strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory actions in the region.

An Iranian military official deemed the resumption of war with the United States “likely” on Saturday, following unsuccessful direct talks in Islamabad on April 11, indicating strong disagreements from the Strait of Hormuz to the nuclear aspect.

“I will study a plan that Iran has sent us,” announced Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform, “but I cannot imagine it being acceptable because (the Iranians) have not yet paid a sufficient price for what they have done to humanity and the world since the founding of the Islamic Republic 47 years ago.”

– 14-point Plan –

According to Iranian news agencies, Iran has transmitted a 14-point plan through Pakistan to Washington aiming to end the conflict within 30 days.

Tehran’s plan includes demands such as the withdrawal of US forces from areas near Iran, lifting the blockade on Iranian ports, releasing frozen Iranian assets, payment of reparations, lifting sanctions, a mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz, and “ending the war on all fronts including Lebanon.”

The issue of the nuclear file, a central concern for the US and Israel accusing Iran of seeking atomic weapons, was not mentioned in the plan.

Iran had already sent a new text earlier in the week through Pakistan, details of which were not disclosed.

Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal and hinted at the possibility of war resuming despite preferring not to “annihilate” Iran completely.

Reports indicate that a conflict between Iran and the US is probable, as stated by Mohammad Jafar Asadi, a deputy inspector of the Iranian Armed Forces’ Khatam Al-Anbiya command, highlighting the failure of the US to honor agreements.

– Blockade –

Whether war continues or diplomatic solutions are pursued, Tehran sees itself as “ready” for both scenarios, with the ball in the US court, according to Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister.

Donald Trump, who had until Friday to seek Congressional authorization for war, opted to notify parliamentary officials that hostilities against Iran had ended, despite ongoing presence of forces indicating otherwise.

The Pentagon’s decision to withdraw about 5,000 troops from Germany drew criticism from US lawmakers, including Republicans, prompting Trump to threaten further reduction of American presence due to lack of European support in the conflict.

Though bombings have ceased, the conflict persists through other means, with Washington imposing a blockade on Iranian ports in response to Tehran’s blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, impacting global oil prices.

– “Panic Attacks” –

On the Lebanese front, Israel conducted airstrikes resulting in casualties, targeting Hezbollah elements, as tensions remain high in the region.

Despite the truce, Iranians face economic hardships amid rising inflation and unemployment, compounded by decades of international sanctions.

One individual described experiencing frequent panic attacks due to the current situation, emphasizing the deteriorating mental state of the population.
