Comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh, a member of the Standing Committee, representatives from counseling and support agencies, Party committees at all levels of the country, and over 120 online connection points from 47 Party organizations abroad were present at the event.

The conference was presided over by Professor Dinh Xuan Dung, a former member of the Central Theory Council and former Vice Chairman of the Literary and Art Criticism Council.

Professor Dinh Xuan Dung emphasized the depth of thought and lasting value of Ho Chi Minh’s wisdom in Vietnam’s foreign policy, explaining the core values that made up the revolutionary ideology and diplomatic approach of President Ho Chi Minh.

He highlighted that the success of diplomatic activities, according to Ho Chi Minh’s philosophy, should be based on the nation’s internal strength. This seemingly simple point, in reality, is a fundamental requirement for those working in foreign affairs. In all circumstances, including during the difficult periods of resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism, Vietnamese diplomacy has always had to rely on its own strength.

In terms of the requirements for the development of diplomacy in the new era, Professor Dinh Xuan Dung emphasized three major requirements for current foreign policy activities: “comprehensive, modern, and professional.”

Regarding “comprehensiveness,” the term no longer limits itself to political or military spheres as before but extends to cultural and economic domains, promoting the country’s image and integrating the best of human culture.

Regarding “modernity,” he argued that it should primarily be modern in terms of people, their posture, and intellect in their diplomatic sentiments, allowing the diplomatic team to access modern world thinking and standards.

Additionally, the requirement for “professionalism” is considered essential in the context of increasingly intense international integration, imposing higher demands in terms of competence, skills, and integrity on the personnel of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In conclusion of the thematic discussion, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh emphasized the importance of this activity in implementing the Party’s political tasks and propaganda work.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Anh stated that this conference was organized in response to the directives of the central propaganda department and the government to strengthen propaganda work to commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026).

It is also an opportunity for officials and Party members within the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deepen their comprehensive and profound understanding of the life, revolutionary journey, and diplomatic thought of President Ho Chi Minh.

Through this activity, we contribute to the dissemination of the study and imitation of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style, in accordance with the spirit of Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016, from the Politburo. Additionally, this political activity meets the imperative of innovation and improving the quality of Party section meetings and thematic debates within the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thereby contributing to a concrete effectiveness in strengthening Party work.
