The Mionnay golf club hosted the International France Pitch & Putt Open from May 8 to 10.
From Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, the Mionnay Golf Club (Ain) hosted the International France Pitch & Putt Open, one of the major events in the discipline in Europe. In this edition, 33 French clubs and players from Spain, Portugal, Benin, and Algeria were present.
In the men’s category, French player Noa Auch-Roy emerged victorious with a total score of -21. As for the women, there was no French winner. Dutch player Kim Kuijsters claimed victory with a total of -10. It is worth noting that a para-golf category was also part of the competition, which saw Thomas Girard emerge as the winner.
“Our ambition was clear: to offer an international-level competition while preserving what makes the essence of pitch & putt: proximity, conviviality, inclusion, and sports excellence,” explained Patrick Giraud, the national president of pitch & putt golf.
Pitch & Putt is a golf course with reduced dimensions originally created in Ireland in 1929 to allow players of all levels and social classes to play.
