Large apartment complex in Kalamazoo Twp condemned, hundreds lose homes
Hundreds of people living at a major apartment complex in Kalamazoo Township discovered Thursday afternoon that their home had been condemned.
Residents at Wildwood Off Main, an apartment complex in the Westwood area that includes nearly 300 units, were met with bright-orange signs posted on their doors that read, in part:
“CONDEMNED
DANGEROUS BUILDING — UNSAFE STRUCTURE UNDER SECTION 108.1.1 OF THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE OF THE JURISDICTION OF KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP”

An argument over a soccer game sparked the shooting that killed two people outside a elementary school Tuesday, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Family identified one of the victims as Savanah Villarreal, 39, a mother of eight.
Truck hits bridge over US-131, spills logs onto Allegan County highway
A heavy commercial truck hit an overpass on US-131 on Wednesday morning.
All roads are reopened after US-131 went down to one lane and110th Avenue near Otsego fully closed on both sides after a heavy commercial truck hit the 110th Avenue overpass on Wednesday morning before 4:30 a.m., causing numerous logs to spill onto the highway, according to Allegan County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies.
‘Never-before-seen’ UFO files released by the Trump administration
The Department of War on Friday released “never-before-seen†files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), part of what officials described as a historic transparency effort ordered by President Donald Trump to begin declassifying government records tied to the phenomena.
“No other president or administration in history has followed through on this level of UAP transparency,†the department said in a statement.

Two people were shot Tuesday evening in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
It happened on North Park Street near West Hopkins Street around 6 p.m., police said.

Just before 10:45 a.m., the Coloma Township Police Department (CTPD) responded to Little Paw Paw Lake for a body that was located in the lake.

A woman died after a vehicle ran a red light and crashed into her on Sunday night.
Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) officers said on Sunday after 11:30 p.m. a vehicle with three people inside driving north on south Division Avenue near southeast 28th Street ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, driven by an adult woman, driving on 28th Street.
