Céline Galipeau will host a brand new international news program this fall, which will be broadcast live on ICI RDI on Fridays at 8 p.m. and re-aired on Sundays at 5 p.m. on ICI TÉLÉ and ICI TOU.TV.

With 14 years of experience as a correspondent and 18 years at the helm of the late-night program Le Téléjournal, Céline Galipeau will delve into the issues shaping our world and highlight the work of Radio-Canada’s correspondents and special envoys in the field.

“This new challenge fulfills a long-standing desire of mine, to lead an international news magazine and take the time to explain complex issues,” said Céline Galipeau.

“With this new program, I aim to provide the audience with a window to the world where we look at what’s happening elsewhere that resonates here,” she added.

Céline Galipeau began her career at Radio-Canada in 1984 in Toronto. She later served as a national correspondent in various locations like London, Moscow, Paris, and Beijing.

Throughout the 1990s, she covered several armed conflicts, including the Gulf War, the Algerian Civil War, the Chechen War, and the Kosovo War.

She also traveled to Afghanistan, India, Haiti, and other places for in-depth reporting.

Since 2009, Céline Galipeau has been the anchor of the late-night Le Téléjournal, presenting the news bulletin and various special programs.

She received numerous awards throughout her career for her outstanding work in journalism, including the Order of Quebec and the Order of Canada.

“Céline Galipeau possesses undeniable expertise to lead this project, aligning with our aim to enhance international coverage and help the audience understand the world better,” said the statement.

Céline Galipeau will focus on this new program in the fall and will pass on the torch of hosting the late-night Le Téléjournal to another anchor. The details regarding the new program and the hosting of Le Téléjournal will be announced later.
