On April 23 and 24, 2026, the Faculty of Health in Poitiers hosted the 1st RISE symposium (Research on Ischemia-Reperfusion in Solid Organ Transplant and Experimental Science), organized by the IRMETIST laboratory (INSERM U1313).
This international scientific event brought together around forty participants, including researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals from France, Belgium, and England to discuss the latest advancements in organ transplantation, focusing on ischemia-reperfusion mechanisms and innovations in organ preservation.
The first day featured conferences by international experts covering topics such as normothermic perfusion, experimental models, and therapeutic strategies to limit damage from ischemia-reperfusion. The second day included practical workshops for attendees to delve deeper into subjects like animal models, emerging technologies (organoids, microperfusion), and biobank optimization.
The symposium also aimed to strengthen collaborations between academic and private sector stakeholders in translational research.
