Paul Seixas climbs to 7th place in UCI world rankings
After his second place finish in Liège-Bastogne-Liège behind the unbeatable Tadej Pogacar, Paul Seixas has risen in the UCI world rankings.
Paul Seixas continues his rapid ascent. Surprising second in Liège-Bastogne-Liège behind the untouchable Tadej Pogacar on Sunday, the 19-year-old Frenchman is breaking into the top 10 of the UCI ranking for the first time, updated this Tuesday. The promising French hope, with an outstanding April (victory in the Tour of the Basque Country and the Walloon Arrow), has gained fifteen positions and now sits in 7th place worldwide (with 3,520.33 points).
Ahead of him are Mads Pedersen, Tom Pidcock, Remco Evenepoel, Isaac Del Toro, Jonas Vingegaard, and Tadej Pogacar. Alone at the top (10,810 pts), the Slovenian has nearly 4,000 points lead over his closest Danish pursuer (6,885.14 pts).
Paul Seixas, whose participation (or absence) in the upcoming Tour de France could be announced this week, is the first Frenchman in the ranking. 7th in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Romain Grégoire climbs to 16th place, Kévin Vauquelin is 24th, and Paul Magnier is 28th. In the women’s category, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is in 14th place in a ranking still dominated by the Dutch Demi Vollering.
