Millions of French people follow specialized health, well-being, or nutrition accounts.

  • Professionals are warning about the tricks of several influencers.
  • Jessie Inchauspé, who has millions of followers on Instagram, sparks debate with her advice.

Doctors are angry. Influencers are giving advice on health, well-being, or nutrition. Millions of French people follow these accounts, which are popular on social networks. Most of them are run by real specialists. But not all these influencers are.

Jessie Inchauspé, better known as “Glucose Goddess,” is under scrutiny by the scientific community. “She has a degree in biochemistry, so she’s not just anyone. But she’s not a doctor. Over the years, she has become a real star, with her advice being listened to very attentively,” says Sandra Marconi, a journalist for LCI, on Tuesday, April 14.

The influencer, followed by more than six million people on Instagram and featured in several magazines, has gained attention by advocating the consumption of apple cider vinegar. Her latest book, which focuses on pregnant women, is facing criticism. She advises eating four eggs a day.
