Rapatriated on Monday

The oldest rider in the MotoGP grid, 35 years old, was repatriated to France on Monday, following a serious crash where his leg was trapped between the rear wheel and the upper part of Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia’s (Ducati) motorcycle. On Sunday, he was hospitalized in Barcelona and the exams revealed “injuries to the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments, as well as to the internal meniscus” of the left knee and “a slight tear of the peroneal tendon at the ankle.”

These injuries are a big blow for Zarco, who is under contract with LCR until the end of 2027. He is expected to miss several races before being able to get back on his motorcycle.
