On Friday, May 8, the U10 team from FC Bias experienced an unforgettable day at the Artigues-près-Bordeaux stadium during the prestigious Aurélien Tchouaméni tournament, a professional international French player at Real Madrid. Under beautiful sunshine and in a friendly atmosphere, the young players from Bias had a great performance against teams from different backgrounds.
The tournament, organized in the form of a mini “Europa League,” brought together sixteen teams mainly from Charente-Maritime and Gironde. Among the present clubs were US Macouria, La Rochelle, Rive Droite, and Graves FC. A great challenge for the young Bias players, who responded well throughout the competition.
Match after match, the U10 team from FC Bias showed great playing qualities, solidarity, and a lot of determination. Thanks to a remarkable performance, they made it to the final of the tournament. Facing the U10 team from US Macouria, who came all the way from Guyana to participate in the event, the young players from Lot-et-Garonne delivered an intense and emotional match.
Trailing in score, the Bias players never gave up and equalized in the final minutes of regulation time, leading to a penalty shootout. Despite their efforts, they were ultimately defeated by two penalties to one, in a highly contested and spectacular final.
At the end of the tournament, coach Mamuti Gesmy was very proud of the behavior and spirit shown by his players throughout the day. Beyond the result, this wonderful journey will remain a memorable experience for the whole group, who leave with a superb second place and a lot of pride.
