The U18 women’s team of FCMB made a lasting impression this weekend during their trip to Vendres in the south of France, delivering a top-notch collective performance marked by cohesion, determination, and progress. After a relaxing beach day to start off, they entered a competitive international tournament with 20 teams divided into 4 groups of 5. Despite starting with a frustrating draw (1-1), they bounced back with a solid 1-0 win, followed by a powerful 1-0 victory against Benfica Lisbon confirming their strength. Securing the top spot in their group with a solid 0-0 draw against Sète was the final step before entering the finals. Their unity, confidence, and team spirit were evident as they celebrated their achievement, even joining forces with opponent players for a heartfelt moment. In the semi-finals, they faced off against familiar rivals Les Fins, with a nail-biting match ending in a penalty shootout that led them to the final. Despite a valiant effort against a strong Swedish team in the final, they finished in 2nd place out of 20 teams, showcasing their exceptional progress and potential. This weekend will be remembered as a significant milestone both in terms of sports and human connection for this promising group.
