After being the star host of C8 for fourteen years, Cyril Hanouna took his leave in March 2025 following the decision of Arcom to definitively remove the TNT channel. Since returning, viewers can now find him on W9 hosting a new talk show called “Tout beau, tout 9”. Among the guests is Matthieu Delormeau, who made a strong comeback after a tough period, following his departure from “Touche pas à mon poste” in May 2023.

In July 2024, Delormeau was arrested in Paris for cocaine possession while under police surveillance. During the launch of “TBT9”, he opened up for the first time about his struggles, saying, “Right now, I don’t have a great image, you can’t say I’m at the top […] I’ve experienced the police, the justice system, custodies, prison, the streets, the dealers.”

Matthieu Delormeau reflects back on his early days with Virginie Efira

On April 23, Matthieu Delormeau detailed his downward spiral in a book titled “Addictions: It only took once.” He highlighted moments from his television career, including a crucial encounter with Virginie Efira before his hosting days. He assisted her upon her arrival in Paris to take over “Absolument 80” on M6.

“We used to eat sushi in her room at night while I worked on her scripts,” Delormeau said in his book. Virginie Efira, who dreamed of a film career, played a significant role in shaping his career. Thanks to her, he was able to enter the hosting world by participating in the casting of “Nous ne sommes pas des anges” on Canal+ alongside Maïtena Biraben, marking a pivotal moment in his professional journey.
