Residents of Vallabrègues and their close neighbors chose to dedicate May 1st, Labor Day, to soft mobility by taking a bike tour of the village with music.
At the initiative of the environmental association of Vallabrègues, supported by local associations like Gard’O’Vélo, courageous Sunday athletes or more seasoned ones displayed their shiny bikes in front of the Cours bar where eminent specialists crowned the most original among them. They then continued with a trip to the flower market of Saint-Pierre-de-Mézoargues where their peaceful and playful behavior spread the message in favor of soft mobility during spontaneous encounters and exchanges.
An action for the environment
The residents of Vallabrègues took action to defend this dear cause as well as all those that promote environmental preservation, as they chose the first day of May’s bike action to make their mark.
Through this spring mobilization, the members of the environmental association and its supporters expressed their own demands and their political will for increased accessibility and development of soft mobility networks. While Friday’s celebration was in the spotlight, the association reminded everyone that each of these events is an opportunity to solidify soft mobility in the daily lives of a community by embracing it personally and participating in its popularization.
