In 2014, the director and actress Charlotte de Turckheim and her husband Zaman Hachemi became owners of a magnificent property located in the heart of the septuagenarian region: Provence. Quickly, the couple decided to embark on renovation work with the idea of opening guest rooms accessible to the public. In this sublime Provencal farmhouse of nearly two hectares, renamed “Notre Dame” by Charlotte de Turckheim, there are 4 rooms and 5 lodgings with nightly prices ranging from 190 to 600 euros, depending on the season. Three of the rooms are named after their daughters Julia, Clara, and Johanna, born from her marriage to Jean-Marc Piaton. The fourth is named Jeanne, the daughter of her current husband from a previous relationship. A beautiful way for the actress to pay tribute to them. “I have a wonderful relationship with our four daughters. I am very lucky. They are fantastic, very committed and concerned about what is happening. I feel like they are all 4, but better. (…) I adore them and admire them,” she explained in 2023 in the columns of Télé-Loisirs.
Une propriété avec un cachet exceptionnel
Located in the small village of Eygalières, only a few kilometers from Arles and Avignon, this large property is entirely made of stone, “built using ancient techniques, and hidden amidst almond, truffle oak, and olive trees.” In addition to offering pleasant nights, Charlotte de Turckheim and her husband also offer a variety of activities such as a pool, trampoline, ping-pong table, and pétanque. Additionally, breakfast is included for each night and is served as a large buffet including “local and organic products from the farm next door. Ham from the butcher in Eygalières (without preservatives or colorings), fresh goat cheese from Mumu, traditional bread and pastries from Provence, cereals, seasonal fruits, fresh pressed juices, locally made fruit juices, homemade apricot jams, walnuts, and other seasonal fruits, organic honey from Eygalières, fresh eggs from the henhouse, etc.”
La fille de Charlotte de Turckheim à la tête du Mas familial
While Charlotte de Turckheim obviously has a say in the organization, maintenance, and offers of her Mas, it is actually her daughter Julia Piaton, also a renowned actress, who manages it. With her mother’s help, she wanted to create a true Provencal atmosphere at the property, using colors that evoke the region and furniture and decoration items made only by local artisans or taken from sets of the films in which they have appeared. For example, the chandeliers throughout the property come from the filming of her own movie called “Les Aristos.” For Charlotte de Turckheim, this Mas holds even more sentimental value as it contains objects that have marked her career.
