On April 23, 2026, M6 aired “Un p’tit truc en plus”, the comedy by Artus released in 2024 that was a box-office hit. Following the phenomenal success of the film “Intouchables”, which starred François Cluzet as a tetraplegic, Artus went even further in comedy by featuring actors who actually have disabilities. This risky gamble convincingly won over audiences with its subtle blend of humor and emotion, without ever resorting to mockery.
Despite the film’s success, which garnered over 10.6 million admissions, Artus has no plans for a sequel. This decision disappointed both the actors and the viewers. “I’m not a big fan of sequels, I think it always tarnishes the films. Intouchables, Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis, and Titanic did not have a sequel,” he revealed in the documentary “Artus, son p’tit truc en plus.”
Arnaud Toupense, the actor discovered in “Un p’tit truc en plus”, opens up about his Alzheimer’s disease. Originally diagnosed with Down syndrome, the actor now faces significant memory gaps due to Alzheimer’s. In a recent interview with Marie Colin for the media “Pluriel”, he shared his fears about memory loss and emotions, holding Marie Colin’s hand, his real-life friend and on-screen love interest. Toupense expressed his admiration for Dalida, saying, “I love Dalida. I have many CDs.” In a previous interview with “Ici Paris”, he explained how his passion for the singer caused some issues during filming, as he had to change rooms when he wanted to listen or sing Dalida songs.
In an interview with “AlloCiné”, Artus discovered a German version of the film “Un p’tit truc en plus” being produced under the title “Das Gewisse Etwas” (This little something extra in French). The film is already in post-production, much to Artus’ surprise. However, to replicate this now cult film, the exact same actors would need to be found. Artus mentioned, “There is no Arnaud there, nor a Ludo. I wrote the film based on them.” Unfortunately, the actors do not speak German, making a German remake unlikely.
