In the context of the second edition of her “Great Citizen Tour”, Carole Delga, regional president, met with the people of Pamiers and also held a working meeting with the newly elected mayor, Jean-Philippe Sannac. Discussions centered around a new cinema, a market hall project, and healthcare issues.

Mayor Jean-Philippe Sannac and Vice President Kamel Chibli welcomed Carole Delga, the regional president, for a meeting with the people of Pamiers on Wednesday as part of the first stage of the second edition of her Great Citizen Tour. Regional elected officials discussed various concerns with local merchants in the ancient center who highlighted their increasing difficulties. The mayor acknowledged the challenges in Pamiers and mentioned an ongoing consultation on pedestrianizing the ancient center to support struggling businesses.

The conversation then shifted to plans for a cinema in the heart of town. Both officials met earlier in the morning at city hall to discuss cooperation on projects, including the cinema location and a marketplace. Carole Delga mentioned previous successful partnerships in other towns in the region and emphasized the region’s support for local businesses and initiatives like the market hall project and improving healthcare access.

The mayor expressed gratitude for Carole Delga’s visit and praised the region’s assistance to Pamiers. He highlighted the importance of transparency in public spending in Pamiers, particularly referencing the successful renovation of the public square. The discussions also covered the market hall, healthcare, and the future cinema project, all critical topics for the city’s development.

The first stop of the second edition of the Citizen Tour took place in Pamiers, where Carole Delga and her team engaged with citizens and local officials from April to July to address their concerns and report on the region’s actions. Over 300 meetings are scheduled, with upcoming events in different locations such as Saint-Girons, Foix, and Tarascon to continue the dialogue between citizens and regional authorities.
