Cinema Paradiso 2026 – A Free Open-Air Cinema in a Magical Setting

One of the most highly anticipated events of the Parisian summer has been confirmed for 2026: Cinema Paradiso will make its grand return from July 1st to July 4th, 2026 in the majestic Cour Carrée of the Louvre. For four evenings, this iconic location in the capital will once again be transformed into a huge open-air cinema.

Seeing a film under the stars, in the heart of the Louvre, on a giant screen, in a festive and summery atmosphere – that’s the beautiful prospect that awaits us this summer. In recent years, the event conceived by Mk2 in partnership with the Louvre Museum has become one of the most beautiful cultural highlights of the summer in Paris, and the 2026 edition has just been announced.

In 2026, the formula is expected to remain true to its successful format. Each evening, visitors will be able to enjoy a large open-air screening, accompanied by animations, DJ sets, concerts, and food offerings designed to extend the evening.

In previous editions, the program included cult films, premieres, and classic masterpieces. In 2025, audiences were treated to films such as “Virgin Suicides” by Sofia Coppola, “In the Mood for Love” by Wong Kar-wai, and “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” in tribute to David Lynch. For 2026, while the detailed lineup has not yet been revealed, it is expected to once again feature a mix of popular cinema and more niche selections. One confirmed film for the lineup is “Julie (in 12 chapters)” by Joachim Trier.

Cinema Paradiso has managed to create a unique format in Paris in just a few years. While other open-air screenings may take place in a park or on a lawn, here it is the monumental setting of the Louvre that makes all the difference. Once night falls, the historic facades become an integral part of the cinematic experience.

From July 1st to July 4th, 2026, the Louvre will not only be a museum but also one of the most beautiful open-air cinemas in Paris. Just like in previous years, tickets will be free and distributed through a lottery system with a limited number available each evening.
