At Patrick Fiori’s, the music doesn’t stop at the stage. Known to the general public thanks to the musical comedy “Notre-Dame de Paris,” the singer-songwriter has built a solid career. But in the columns of “Télé Poche,” where he has been a coach on “The Voice Kids” since 2015, he mainly talks about his role as a father, which he aims to protect from prying eyes, for his three children born in 2009, 2014, and 2023. “I won’t talk about my children, it’s an area I want to preserve,” said the singer to “Télé Poche.”
This modesty, however, does not prevent him from sharing some insights about the atmosphere at home. “I can tell you that in my family, everyone has always been singing. There is always music in the house, a guitar lying around. In our home, I believe the first cry of each child is a note,” shared the patriarch.
Patrick Fiori, influenced by his origins
This connection to music is rooted in a deeper history. Born Patrick Chouchayan in 1969 in Marseille, Patrick Fiori grew up between Marseille and Corsica, in a family of five children. From a young age, he was surrounded by songs sung by his mother. “My mother sang Corsican songs to her five children. So, it’s an essential transmission for me,” explained the performer of the hit song “Que tu reviennes” to the magazine.
The link to music and his mother goes further back in his story. As a teenager, Patrick Fiori decided to change his last name. “At school, no one knew how to pronounce my last name: Chouchayan. So, at 14, I asked my father if he minded that I took my mother’s maiden name (Fiori). That means ‘flowers’ in Corsican,” he revealed to “Femme Actuelle” in February 2015.
Patrick Fiori, family above all
Over time and with the birth of his children, Patrick Fiori has redefined his priorities, away from the stage. “Being a father… it changes everything!” he shared in an interview with “IdolesMag” in 2015. The iconic voice of French music emphasizes this turning point. “Music is wonderful, it’s a profession in which I thrive, but my priority is my family,” he explained in the same interview. He continues to pass on his love for music in a family setting that he protects. But this reserve does not diminish the emotion. “I started to exist the day my son was born,” he affirmed to “Gala” in 2016. A statement that summarizes the central role of fatherhood in his life.
Meanwhile, Patrick Fiori continues his artistic projects. A member of Les Enfoirés since 1999 and a coach on “The Voice Kids” on TF1, he remains very present for his audience. He is notably preparing for a special concert at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille on May 23. An important event for someone who has never forgotten his roots.
