Bedous/Arette: Cuban music honored by the Aspe

After a few weeks of testing, they received their instrument ready for the duration of the cycle: for some a violin or guitar, for others a flute, piano, trumpet, clarinet, bass, or percussion. The lessons are taught by Benjamin Courtoux, a music teacher at both schools, with the help of music teachers, most of whom are provided by the intermunicipal music school of Haut-Béarn (EMIHB) for the instrumental part.

In June, they will return their instruments to their school after a beautiful human, educational, and cultural adventure. Quickly, these young people were put into orchestral situations in front of the public, participated in a national gathering at Futuroscope in Poitiers, and enthusiastically performed their end-of-year show at the Jéliote hall. Their surprising progress could be seen and heard over the months.

A new cycle in preparation

For the two small mountain schools that joined forces to introduce musical practice on a grand scale, this initiative provides valuable lessons in music, as well as in collective living, working together, and citizenship. With the hope that a new promotion will be launched next school year.
