If the American War minister is no stranger to embarrassment, his latest mishap is particularly delightful. Believing he was quoting the Bible during a speech at the Pentagon this week, it turns out that Pete Hegseth had inadvertently borrowed his sermon from a classic Quentin Tarantino film.

It turns out that Pete Hegseth actually quoted an iconic monologue from Quentin Tarantino’s classic, Pulp Fiction, delivered by the formidable hitman Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) to his victims just before killing them.

Indeed, it’s not quite the same.

As The Hollywood Reporter recalls, the Ezekiel quote had been significantly expanded by director Quentin Tarantino for his film and the character of Jules, who stated:
