The Almonte football team secured a decisive victory at Mélouze this weekend. Fueled by an enthusiastic crowd, RFC remains undefeated at home this season. The climb to Regional 3 will take place in Carmaux in two weeks, a promotion the club has been waiting for forty years.

Saturday at Mélouze felt like a big night. With sweltering heat, a packed stadium, a sense of revenge in the air, and the feeling that a crucial part of the season could unfold. Facing Saint-Juéry, Almonte knew they had to respond promptly. Despite the visitors striking first against the run of play after fifteen minutes.

The response was immediate, collective, almost instinctive. By the half-hour mark, Étienne Pastre slid a perfect ball to Teddy Djellilahine who calmly equalized before Adelin Boyer, just before halftime, set up Anthony Arnal for the goal that sent Mélouze into a frenzy. The second half was about control. Serious, united, focused, the RFC men held onto their lead without much trouble. This evening also had a special flavor: undefeated at Mélouze, Almonte delivered a rare performance and sent a strong message to the entire group.

Onward to history

But the story is not over yet. In two weeks, they will need to secure at least one point in Carmaux to confirm a promotion the club has been awaiting for forty years. Ninety more minutes to go to return to Regional 3.
