Street Creativity Association Expands Hip-Hop Dance in Ariège

Implanted in Lavelanet and Foix, the Street Creativity association is developing hip-hop dance among young people and is already preparing for its arrival in Saint-Girons in 2026.

Implanted in Lavelanet and Foix, the association brings together around fifty members and continues to grow with a clear ambition: to offer young people structured, professional, and inspiring access to hip-hop disciplines. “While Street Creativity shines through the diversity of its workshops, hip-hop dance and breakdance remain the pillars of its activity, offered year-round through weekly classes,” explains Joshua Thiesset, the founder and teacher.

Young people can discover and practice several emblematic styles of hip-hop culture: breakdance, newstyle, popping, and locking. These classes are led by Joshua Thiesset, a dancer with over 30 years of experience in the hip-hop scene and more than 15 years of teaching. As the founder of Street Creativity, he imparts a solid, accessible, and deeply rooted pedagogy in the values of urban culture.

Courses are available in multiple cities. Street Creativity is committed to making urban dance accessible to as many people as possible.

In addition to regular dance classes, Street Creativity actively contributes to the urban culture’s influence with large-scale projects that enhance local cultural dynamism. The association organizes events such as “Check the Street,” a two-day festival featuring workshops, performances, and top-level artists, including the current world beatbox champion, and “Roll the Style,” a unique battle concept created by the association. The first edition held in April 2026 in Lavelanet was a real success.

These events confirm Street Creativity’s ability to innovate, inspire, and offer unique artistic experiences.

Transmitting, gathering, and inspiring are all part of Street Creativity’s DNA, carrying a strong mission: to provide young people with a real space for expression, self-confidence, and creativity, while promoting the essential values of urban culture: respect, self-improvement, openness, and sharing.

With its regular dance classes, territorial development, and large-scale events, Street Creativity emerges as a key player in the cultural landscape of Ariège. This momentum continues to grow.
