Believe Munongo becomes professional at just 16 years old, signing a contract with FC Metz
Born in Metz, Believe Munongo has signed his first professional contract with FC Metz at the age of just sixteen. Having played ten matches in Ligue 1 this season, he has even been a starter in four games, including matches against Angers, Auxerre, Brest, and Lens.
On January 25, during a match against Olympique Lyonnais, Munongo became the youngest player to ever play for FC Metz, at just 16 years and 63 days old. He is also set to represent France in the upcoming U17 Euro in Estonia.
Believe Munongo is the sixth young player from FC Metz’s training center to turn professional this season, following in the footsteps of Diego Duarte, Adam Marchal, Nathan Mbala, Abdoulaye Nassoko, and Tahirys Dos Santos.
