Reception organized for DFCO after their National Championship win

The long-awaited return of DFCO to Ligue 2 will be officially celebrated on Saturday, May 16th in Dijon. The City and the Metropolis will host a reception open to the public at 11:00 am in the State Room of the City Hall in honor of the club, who were crowned champions of the National league after a decisive victory on Saturday (1-2) against Le Puy.

Thanks to this success, under the leadership of Baptiste Ridira, the team has secured their promotion to Ligue 2 for the 2026-2027 season, ending several challenging seasons and three years in the third tier of French football.

During the reception, players, coach, staff, and officials will be highlighted. The City specified that the National Championship trophy will be on display. Posters will also be distributed at the entrance for supporters to get autographs from the players after the speeches. If there is a large turnout, the team could also meet the public in the courtyard of the City Hall or at Place de la Libération. The authorities believe that this reception is a way to “acknowledge the remarkable journey of the club” and to share “this moment with supporters and the people of Dijon.” They also see it as a testament to the “dynamism of sports in Dijon,” especially with major sporting events happening in the city, including around the JDA women’s handball team.
