After the latest Zuffa Boxing fight night, promoter Dana White engaged with the specialized press and answered questions on various subjects, including the projects of his company in the United Kingdom, recruiting new boxers, and much more. Watch an excerpt of his statements in the complete video.
White on the arrival of Zuffa Boxing in the UK: “We have an excellent agreement with Sky, which will allow us to organize numerous fights in the UK. It must be said that in the last 15 to 20 years, boxing has become a European sport. It certainly does not have the same influence in the United States as it did in the 90s and early 2000s.”
Regarding rumors about Shakur Stevenson signing with Zuffa: “Have we announced the signing of Shakur Stevenson? No? [Smirks]. It’s possible. Listen, ultimately, I think everyone will be here at Zuffa Boxing. I said judge us on our results at the dawn of 2027, so there you go. I don’t see why I would say false things. Look at what we have accomplished in just four months.”
On Roy Jones Jr.’s criticism of their attempts to undermine the Ali Act and his statement about needing to be a bootlicker to get fights at Zuffa: “I think everyone has their opinion, especially the traditional boxers who have followed their own path. I think if you asked any boxer, they would tell you that we treat them very well, as professional athletes. I don’t know where that comes from, but I like Roy.”
“When you come into a sector and shake it up, you inevitably attract trouble. It’s going to happen.”
