Iran has threatened France and Great Britain in case of ship deployment in the Strait of Hormuz. A threat that required clarification from Emmanuel Macron.

“A decisive and immediate response.” This is the threat issued by Tehran. As the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the British destroyer HMS Dragon head towards the Strait of Hormuz, Iran warns against any hostile action in this waterway: “Only the Islamic Republic of Iran can ensure security in this strait. It will not allow any country to interfere in this area,” wrote the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister.

A clear response less than an hour later from Emmanuel Macron: “We have never considered, I invite you to review all my statements from the first day, deploying to reopen. That has never been France’s option. So I don’t know who is in charge of what, but what we command is not what France proposes.” The head of state recalls that it would be a coordinated mission with fifty partners to resume traffic once the war is over.

But according to the Israeli Prime Minister, this conflict is not yet over: “I think we have accomplished a lot, but it is not over because there are still nuclear matters, enriched uranium, that need to be removed from Iran.”

Tehran responded on Sunday, May 10, to the American proposal to end the conflict. On his social network, Donald Trump criticized the counteroffer proposed by the Iranians and deemed it “totally unacceptable.”
