Six people arrested
After PSG qualified for its second Champions League final in a row, jubilant demonstrations took place in different districts of Paris, notably around the Champs-Elysées, closed and yet prohibited to traffic, but also around the Parc des Princes. Some overflows with the use of fireworks and smoke bombs were observed without major incidents. A few individuals attempted to get off on an access ramp to the ring road but were quickly pushed back by the police.
The system put in place allowed the arrest of six people for using mortars and participating in a group with a view to committing crimes, according to information from BFMTV. Two people were unfortunately injured in the hands by the use of fireworks, including one seriously, according to the latest report communicated at 12:30 a.m. by the Paris Police Prefecture.
The situation gradually returned to calm around 2:30 a.m., despite new clashes noted, particularly around the Champs de Mars. The Police Headquarters should communicate this Thursday morning.
