Key Meeting of Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Leaders

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired a meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Present at the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, Minister and Chief of the Government Office Dang Xuan Phong, as well as leaders from various ministries, agencies, and organizations.

The delegates evaluated achievements, identified difficulties and obstacles, discussed the evolving global situation and its impact on Vietnam, and addressed diplomatic sector development issues. They also discussed key missions and solutions for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the upcoming months, focusing on implementing foreign policies according to central committee directives and strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations.

Prime Minister Hung emphasized the importance of strengthening international relations and integration as a crucial and permanent task, reflecting a strategic shift in the Party’s thinking. He highlighted the complex and rapidly changing global landscape and the need for proactive strategic planning and response to potential challenges.

The meeting also reviewed proposals and recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding personnel, mechanisms, policies, and resources needed for a comprehensive and modern diplomatic system. The Prime Minister commended the Ministry for its efforts in maintaining peace, stability, and friendly relations with other countries.
