So, in recent days, Instagram reportedly carried out a “purge,” removing all these fake accounts from its users. As a result, the most influential personalities, as well as unknown individuals, have lost a varying number of followers.

The most dramatic drop seems to be that of Kylie Jenner, who allegedly lost more than 14 million followers, according to estimates. Other celebrities like the group BLACKPINK, Cristiano Ronaldo, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Justin Bieber reportedly lost between 5 and 10 million followers. Users on X are actively commenting on this “purge,” accusing some celebrities of buying followers. Others believe it is now time for Instagram to delete inactive accounts.
