Thursday evening on the Grands Boulevards in Paris, a French comedian, a star from “Plus belle la vie,” a television host, a former beauty queen, and a former actress from “Caméra Café” were all seen together. On March 12, these celebrities gathered to attend the unveiling of the wax statue of artist Richard Orlinski at the Musée Grévin. Orlinski is the first personality of 2026 to enter this renowned institution.
The wax statue of Richard Orlinski is strikingly realistic, dressed in his trademark shiny black puffer jacket, a white t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. The French artist struck a pose, holding his famous red “wild kong” in his right hand. To celebrate this event, French humorist and comedian Anne Roumanoff, presenter Laurent Ruquier, “Plus belle la vie” star Fabienne Carat, Miss France 2002 Sylvie Tellier, rapper Franglish, former culture minister Roselyne Bachelot, and the iconic Armelle Lesniak from “Caméra Café” all responded to the call for this inaugural evening.
Richard Orlinski, one of the best-selling French artists in the world
When he began his career in 2004 with a bright red resin crocodile, Richard Orlinski could not have imagined that twenty-two years later, his wax statue would join the legendary Musée Grévin. Inspired by pop culture and with a unique universe, Orlinski has had prestigious collaborations over the years with brands like Hublot, Porsche, and Lancôme.
His wax statue is a testament to his success. After six months of work in the museum’s workshops, visitors can now see it in the Columns room, near international figures like Brad Pitt, Beyoncé, and Aya Nakamura, whose statue was inaugurated in June 2025.
