The negotiations continue between Americans and Iranians around the Strait of Hormuz. Discussions are tense as both countries claim to have regained control of the area after several ship seizures in recent days. Donald Trump has decided to send a third aircraft carrier to the region.

In the Strait of Hormuz, a war of position and communication is unfolding. Iran is inside, while the Americans are outside. Both countries claim to control it, but Donald Trump is ramping up pressure by announcing the deployment of a third aircraft carrier, the George W. Bush. The goal is to economically suffocate the regime of the mullahs.

The president asserts that he has all the time he needs to negotiate a peace agreement: “Don’t rush me. We have total control of the strait. It will open when they have reached an agreement or something very positive happens,” Donald Trump said on Thursday.

On the other hand, the Islamic Republic continues to block the strait, seize ships, and claims to charge a toll for passage. “In a situation where our national security is threatened and we are facing aggression from the United States and Israel, a coastal state like ours has the right to take measures to prevent possible enemy attacks,” said Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on television.

The ceasefire is hanging by a thread. Both countries claim they can resume fighting. Israel, on the other hand, declares it has its finger on the trigger and is ready to send Iran back to the Stone Age.
