Alban Ivanov is back to try his luck on “LOL: Qui rit sort season 6”

The rules have changed. This Friday, April 24, Prime Video will release the first three episodes of season 6 of LOL: Qui rit sort. While the basic principle remains the same – that is, not to laugh – this year the celebrities will play with new rules. We’ve seen the start of the season, and it’s going in all directions.

Keeping a straight face has probably never been harder. After five classic seasons and two spin-offs, the concept of LOL is starting, it must be said, to be well polished. To not lose interest along the way, maybe a bit too bubbly, for some viewers, Prime Video has decided to shake things up a bit.

This year, the contestants of LOL: Qui rit sort (who always play for charitable associations) do not play alone but in teams. There’s the trio Jérémy Ferrari, Baptiste Lecaplain, and Arnaud Tsamere, as well as the pairs Jonathan Lambert and Kad Merad, Marine Leonardi and Paul de Saint-Sernin, Elena Nagapetyan and GuiHome, and finally Alban Ivanov and Paul Mirabel, who are familiar with the program as they participated in 2023 and 2024. A 100% humor selection, where in previous years there were also personalities from the world of cinema.

A very joyful mess

This new setup is no easy task for the candidates. Not only do they have to avoid laughing themselves, but they also have to watch their partner(s) to ensure they don’t crack. A very difficult mission, especially for the trio, largely due to Arnaud Tsamere who appears to be on the edge before the alarm goes off to signal the start of the game. They must also avoid making each other laugh, which is not easy with a buddy, as everyone knows.

But that’s not the only thing that changes. In addition to the traditional Joker card (which they must play solo, risking to crack their partner), the candidates have a “secret weapon” to play this time in pairs, and it’s very, really very broad. Add to that all the visual surprises and other activities devised beforehand by everyone to drop the red and yellow cards.

Result: it’s all over the place and really going in all directions. Too much? A little, yes. Too fast? Not impossible. Perhaps that’s why the season only has six episodes (unlike the last three which had 7). Don’t worry, we still had a good laugh.
