Ruben Kluivert (OL) will start against PSG on Sunday (8:45pm) after returning from injury last weekend. The Dutchman will play as the third center-back, while also being able to play left-back.
Paulo Fonseca said his return gives him another option in defense. Kluivert returned from injury against Lorient last week (2-0) and will start the clash against PSG this Sunday (8:45pm). At the first meeting, he did well to contain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, even though he scored a goal (2-3). The Dutchman played as a right-back that day. This time, things will be different.
He is expected to be on the left side alongside the tireless duo of Clinton Mata and Moussa Niakhaté. Patrick’s son will adapt his position as needed, either as the third center-back or left-back, depending on the circumstances and tactics. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Abner will be on the flanks, with Abner potentially moving into midfield during certain sequences.
Endrick and Moreira up front against Merah
OL will rely on Tyler Morton and Orel Mangala to counter the significant influence of PSG’s midfielders. Belgian Tanner Tessmann is preferred over Morton. Further up the field, Khalis Merah will provide ammunition to the strikers Endrick and Afonso Moreira. They will also need to mark Vitinha, the opposing playmaker from Meyzieu.
It’s worth noting that PSG has made several changes in their lineup. Players like Ousmane Dembélé and Joao Neves are not starting. Marquinhos is on the bench, while Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, and Achraf Hakimi are in the starting eleven.
OL lineup: Greif – Maitland-Niles, Mata, Niakhaté (C), Kluivert, Abner – Morton, Mangala – Merah – Endrick, Moreira
PSG lineup: Safonov – Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Hernandez – Vitinha, Beraldo, Mayulu – Doué, Ramos, Barcola.
