A demonstration was carried out on Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Bocage virois area, in Calvados. The Ara robot was showcased in front of local farmers.

The high-precision sprayer, developed by Ecorobotix, made the trip on invitation from the Chamber of Agriculture of Calvados, in partnership with the Federation of Cuma Normandie Ouest – with Florian Frémont at the demonstration.

The meeting was organized as part of farmer groups led by the Vire branch (group of 30,000 by Sarah Cavenel and GIEE Legumines Normandie by David Delbecque). It took place on the plot of Gaec de la Pillardière, in Noues de Sienne.

91% less

While waiting for more long-term observations – they plan to return to the plot very soon to see the effects of Ara’s first pass – the Federation of Cuma highlighted “the use of 4 g of herbicide for 2.4 ha, instead of 48 g if the treatment had been carried out over the entire meadow,” described Sarah Cavenel, agronomic advisor for the Chambers. “That represents 91% less product.”

This is a significant saving in terms of phytosanitary aspects. An achievement that has made the robot the most precise machine on the market and the first to be operational in France a few years ago. A real boost for grazing systems, to be closely monitored.
