Iranian Football Federation vice president Mehdi Mohammad Nabi reassured on Tuesday in Antalya about Team Melli’s participation in the 2026 World Cup, organized in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Despite persistent diplomatic tensions between Tehran and Washington and questions about visas, the Iranian leader assures that the team has a “precise plan” to prepare for their arrival in Arizona, where they will establish their base camp before their debut on June 15 in Los Angeles against New Zealand.

“We are very confident and we have a precise plan. We cannot guarantee that all players and staff will receive visas for the United States, but according to FIFA statutes and competition regulations, the host country must provide necessary visa facilities to all qualified teams for the World Cup. Players will go to the Canadian embassy to complete preliminary visa procedures and administrative formalities. Some staff members will also go to the Canadian and US embassies to handle their own formalities. We have been through this before, and our security team has always performed exceptionally well. There is no doubt that in the United States as well, everything will proceed according to the rules, in accordance with FIFA protocols and guidelines,” Mehdi Mohammad Nabi stated.
