Panic – On Saturday, visitors to an American amusement park were stuck for nearly an hour on a roller coaster due to a sudden breakdown
Visitors to the Six Flags New England amusement park in Massachusetts, United States, experienced a big scare on Saturday. As reported by the American magazine People, they were stranded for nearly an hour on a roller coaster due to a sudden breakdown.
A woman, who was there with a friend and their two children, told NBC 10 News that the ride suddenly stopped while they were “right at the top.” It started raining at the same time. She tried to reassure her 11-year-old daughter the best she could. “It’s just because it’s wet, don’t worry, everything will be fine,” she told her.
Stuck at 45 degrees
According to the mother, the passengers were stuck at about 45 degrees as the rain intensified. After a long wait of nearly 45 minutes, an announcement over the speakers informed them that they were going to be freed. The ride was unlocked, the roller coaster was restarted, and it was able to complete the ride.
The soaked passengers were welcomed by park staff with dry clothes, food vouchers, and passes for their next visit. According to the park management contacted by People, the ride was “carefully inspected” before being put back into operation. Each ride in the park is equipped with safety sensors ensuring an automatic stop in case of any problems.
